GP Patient List Update: subscription terms
These terms cover the GP Patient List Update, a monthly subscription from Patient Growth. Patient Growth is a trading name of Cardboard Creative Limited ("we", "us"). "You" means the GP practice that subscribes. The GP Patient List Update is sold to practices as businesses. The person who signs up confirms that they can do so on the practice's behalf. Our website's terms of use still apply to the website itself.
The service
Each month, once NHS England publishes its figures for GP practices, we email you a report on your practice's registered list. It covers:
- changes since the previous month;
- closures, sharp changes in list size, moves and new practices within 3 miles;
- your list now, and how it has moved against nearby practices;
- your share of registered patients at practices within 3 miles, and your share of your Primary Care Network;
- your standing in your sub-ICB area and integrated care board.
We send it to the email address given at sign-up. We do not promise a particular day, because that depends on when NHS England publishes. The GP Patient List Update is separate from our growth service. Subscribing does not sign you up for anything else.
Who can subscribe
Any GP practice in England that appears in NHS England's latest published figures can subscribe, except a current client of our growth service, whose monthly report already covers this.
A practice can have one subscription at a time. If a second subscription is set up for a practice that already has one, we cancel the second straight away and refund in full any payment charged for it. We do this automatically, so you do not need to ask.
Price and VAT
The GP Patient List Update costs £15 a month including VAT (£12.50 + VAT). Cardboard Creative Limited is registered for VAT, number GB412944015. Your invoices show the VAT.
The free period
- A practice's first subscription starts with its first month free.
- A practice that signs up through the link or QR code in a letter we sent it has its first three months free instead.
- There is one free period per practice. A practice that has subscribed before is charged from sign-up.
- You give card or Direct Debit details when you sign up. Nothing is charged during the free period. Stripe's payment page shows when it ends, and we email you before it ends with the date and amount of your first payment.
- If you cancel during the free period, nothing is charged.
Billing
- You can pay by card or Direct Debit. Stripe processes payments for us, and we never see your card or bank details.
- Stripe's payment page, receipts and billing page show the name Patient Growth. Invoices are issued by Cardboard Creative Limited, which charges the VAT.
- You are charged monthly in advance: first when your free period ends, or at sign-up if there is no free period, then monthly from that date.
- Stripe emails a receipt for each payment. Invoices are available through the manage link in your latest report email, or by emailing patientgrowth@cardboardcreative.co.uk.
- If you pay by Direct Debit, Stripe emails you a notice before each payment is collected.
- If a payment fails, Stripe tries again and tells you. If it still cannot be collected, your subscription ends and the reports stop.
Cancelling
- The manage link in your report email works for 45 days and lets anyone who has it see your billing details and cancel, so treat it like a password.
- There is no minimum term. You can cancel at any time, using the "Manage or cancel your subscription" link in your latest report email, or by emailing patientgrowth@cardboardcreative.co.uk.
- Cancelling stops future payments. Your reports continue to the end of the period you have paid for, or to the end of your free period, and then stop.
- We do not refund part months.
- We may end a subscription if the practice becomes a client of our growth service, or if we stop offering the GP Patient List Update. We will email you first. Nothing further is charged after it ends, and we refund the payment for the month in progress.
If your practice's figures are delayed
If NHS England's latest figures do not yet include your practice, we email you a short note instead of that month's report. Billing continues as normal, so that month is still charged. Your next report follows once the figures are published, and includes anything that changed nearby in the meantime. If you would rather not pay for a month with no report, tell us within 30 days of that payment and we will refund it.
If your practice closes or merges
If NHS England records your practice as closed, or its practice code is retired after a merger, we email you and end the subscription. Nothing further is charged. If we did not send you a report for the month your last payment covered, we refund that payment in full.
The same applies if your practice is missing from NHS England's figures for two months running. You can sign up again once its figures return, without a second free period.
The data
- Every figure is built from two NHS England publications: Patients Registered at a GP Practice, used under the Open Government Licence, and the register of GP practices. Shares, averages and rankings are our own calculations from them. Each figure shows its source.
- NHS England sometimes revises figures after publishing them. Each report shows the figures as they stood when we prepared it. We do not reissue earlier reports when figures change.
- We take care to be accurate, but the data is provided as published. Check any figure against its source before relying on it.
- The report is information, not advice. It is not professional, legal or financial advice, and decisions you make with it are yours.
- You may share your report with people at your practice. Please do not publish it or pass it to another practice.
- Patient Growth is independent of the NHS.
Changes to the price or these terms
We may change the price or these terms. We will email you at least 30 days before a change takes effect. If you do not want to continue, you can cancel before then, and you will not pay the new price. Small changes that do not affect what you receive or pay may take effect straight away. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
Liability
- We provide the GP Patient List Update with reasonable care and skill.
- The report is information, not advice. What you do with it is your decision, and we are not liable for the commercial outcome of a decision you take.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost income and lost opportunity.
- We are not liable for loss arising from errors in NHS England's published figures, or from NHS England revising them after we prepared your report.
- Our total liability to you for anything to do with the GP Patient List Update is limited to the amount you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Privacy
How we handle the details you give us, including payment processing by Stripe and how long we keep your details, is set out in our privacy policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
