GP Patient List Update
See how your practice's list compares with the practices around you, every month.
Each month, once NHS England publishes its figures, we send you a bespoke report for your practice. It shows how your registered list moved, how that compares with nearby practices, and what changed locally, from closures to new practices. Every figure shows its source, so you can check any of it.

What your monthly report shows
- Whether you are keeping pace locally. How your registered list changed over the month, against the average of nearby practices.
- What changed around you. Practices within 3 miles that closed, changed sharply in size (a merger, for example), moved or newly appeared in NHS England's figures, each with its month. If nothing happened, the report says so.
- Your share of local patients. Your share of registered patients at practices within 3 miles, and your share of your Primary Care Network, with every member practice named.
- Your list over time. A chart of your registered list against nearby practices, brought up to date each month.
- How you rank. How many registered patients you added over the last 12 months, ranked across your sub-ICB area and integrated care board.
Anything that could distort a comparison, such as a practice moving or merging, is named beside the figures. Every figure shows its NHS England source and month, so you can check any of it.

Questions
We can already see our list size. What does this add?
Your list size on its own does not tell you whether you are keeping pace. Each report puts it against the practices around you, shows your share of local patients and of your Primary Care Network, and names nearby closures, mergers, moves and new practices. We do the work every month, so you do not have to.
Do we need to be a client of Patient Growth?
No. Any GP practice in England can subscribe. It does not commit you to anything else. Practices already using our list-growth service get these figures in their monthly report. We only send you our newsletter if you ask for it.
How do we cancel?
Use the "Manage or cancel your subscription" link in your latest report email. It opens Stripe's billing page, where you can cancel. If the link has expired, Stripe asks for your billing email and sends you a sign-in code. If you cancel during your free period, nothing is charged. You can also email patientgrowth@cardboardcreative.co.uk and we will cancel it for you.
Where do the numbers come from?
From two NHS England publications anyone can download: Patients Registered at a GP Practice, and the register of GP practices. We work out the shares, averages and rankings from them. Every figure in your report names its source and month, so you can check it. How we source our numbers
Is VAT included?
Yes. £15 a month including VAT (£12.50 + VAT). Stripe emails a receipt for each payment, and your invoices show the VAT. You can download invoices through the manage link in your latest report email, or email patientgrowth@cardboardcreative.co.uk for a copy.
Why does my invoice say Cardboard Creative Limited?
Patient Growth is a Cardboard Creative service. Cardboard Creative Limited is the company that invoices for it and charges the VAT, so its name is on your invoice.
Can a partner or colleague cancel?
Yes. Anyone with a report email can use its manage link, so forward it only within the practice. Anyone at the practice can also email patientgrowth@cardboardcreative.co.uk. We check the request comes from the practice, then cancel. Email us too if you would like the reports sent to a different address.
What if our practice's figures are delayed?
If NHS England's latest figures do not yet include your practice, we email you a short note instead of that month's report. Billing continues as normal, so that month is still charged. Your next report follows once the figures are published, and includes anything that changed nearby in the meantime. If you would rather not pay for a month with no report, tell us and we will refund it.
What happens if our practice closes or merges?
If NHS England records your practice as closed, or its code is retired after a merger, we email you and end the subscription. Nothing further is charged. If we did not send a report for the month your last payment covered, we refund that payment in full. The same applies in the rare case your practice is missing from NHS England's figures two months running. You can subscribe again once its figures return.
